[ Philosophy ]
Co-founded by Caroline Kavanagh and Deb Koch,
in late 1997Red Canoea design and development firm.
Success for Red Canoe is largely defined and attained by following our mission to do work we love with people we enjoy.
Its working!
< as we live so we work >
As we enter our ninth year, we have evolved. We continue to discover the arenas within which we excel and within which we enjoy our highest levels of passion.
We are concept people.
We are convinced that effective design utilizes words as much as
it does imagery or typography.
Buzz words annoy us.
As points of referencesome of them are unavoidable.
|
|
|

Brandingit is today perhaps more important than it has ever been. Red Canoes work is always, in part, about successful branding. Print and Web work, work together to establish cohesive branding.
What is it? Branding is an honest representation of
the personality of and the promise behind a company.
We are big picture strategists and detail and consistency fanatics.
We see each client as a Red Canoe investment. We begin each project with the presumption that we will create a winning solution for that client and for Red Canoe.
We win design awards not because we design for design, but because our designs succeed in fulfilling their purpose and reaching their audience. The purpose and function drive the form. The form exemplifies clean and smart design.
< so we live as we work >

NEW RED CANOE WEB SITE
|
|
Long-overdue, we are paddling away on our new Web site. Our “Just the Facts” philosophy for our site will once again prevail. When we designed this site (2001) we had about 10 note-worthy projects and six awards to feature. The site was sane as one HTML page with text-only. It did not scroll nine hundred miles to the right. Our new site will eventually be driven via CMS. Our interim site will begin showing our print work. Updates for new clients, projects and awards have been largely abandoned on this current site as we expend our “free time” on the new site. Meanwhile, please phone us or e-mail to receive our printed portfolio booklets.

TOP 20 CREATIVE FIRMS
|
|
Electronic Publishing magazine selected Red Canoe as one of the top twenty creative firms in a piece for their print issue for July 2004. Here's a part of what they had to say...
|
|
Electronic Publishing magazine solicited the help of industry experts to compile a list of 20 graphic design firms that excel at their craft. These artists are recognized for creating exceptional design for some of the top companies in the world. In addition, they win national and international design competitions, are regularly published in highly regarded magazines and books, and have been included in permanent museum collections. These firms inspire us because they produce effective, visually appealing designs for their clients and are passionate about what they do.
